Our Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Dr. Joseph C Lau, was recently invited as the guest speaker for 2 special sessions on "Design for Hospitality" to the master students from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
Dr. Lau, drawing from years of industry expertise, shared invaluable insights from his extensive experience as both a developer and an architect. From land acquisition, followed by the design concept of a hotel, till the commencement of the construction, Dr. Lau’s in-depth sharing covers not only the creative aspects of design, but also delves into the financial analysis and operational considerations that inspire the students to contemplate the practical aspects that shape successful hospitality ventures.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to SHTM from PolyU for hosting us. It is through such collaborative platforms that we can foster the next generation of hospitality leaders.
Our students' Works Exhibition: "The Space of Encounter - Zero to the 4D"
Our Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Dr. Joseph C Lau, has taught the Stage & Set Design Course at the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for the Spring semester 2023. The course was completed with praises from the outside critics for the final presentation of our students’ works.
We are now working with the students for an exhibition, namely "The Space of Encounter - Zero to the 4D", to showcase their amazing journey with the guidance from Dr. Lau!
The exhibition will last from May 30 to June 19, 2023 on 3F, Jockey Club Innovation Tower at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Mark your calendar and visit our students’ second home for real!

Maryknoll Secondary School New Campus Thanksgiving Service cum Grand Opening Ceremony
In the past few years, Rocco Design Studio has been working closely with our client, Maryknoll Secondary School, for their new campus at On Sau Road, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong. The stages taken on this Design and Build project, ranging from different design approaches of the exterior and interior signages to the featured funding tree tribute wall; renovation of special purpose rooms to the lecture hall theatre and a two-story library; and several types of customized school furniture.
The said project was completed with many positive responses from the teachers, parents, students, other school principals, friends, and alumni. The final product exceeds the School’s expectations.
A Thanksgiving Service cum Grand Opening Ceremony was successfully held at the new campus on March 3, 2023. Rocco Design Studio was invited to share this thankful event and joyful moment with our client. From the speech shared by the Principal, Mr. Martin Lai, he mentioned the School’s appreciation for the details and accountability Rocco Design Studio has demonstrated on every segment of this Design and Build Project, given the tight construction schedule with less than 2 months on site applications.
